FAQ - Accessibility

These are FAQ's in regards to Offline Functionality

Accessibility

OpsAnalitica aims to be usable by everyone, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, screen readers, magnification, or high-contrast displays. This article describes the accessibility features in the OpsAnalitica web app and how to use them.

Display settings

You can adjust how OpsAnalitica looks on each device you use. Open the account panel (your name at the top of the menu) and choose Device settings. The first time you sign in on a new device, the Set up your device dialog offers the same options.

These settings are saved on the device, so you can choose different settings for a shared tablet and for your own computer.

  • Font size (Small, Medium, Large): makes text throughout the app smaller or larger.

  • Appearance (Light, Dark, System): uses a light or dark look. System follows your device's light or dark setting.

  • Contrast (Standard, High, System): High increases color contrast for better legibility. System follows your device's high-contrast setting.

  • Keep messages until dismissed (On or Off): pop-up messages stay on screen until you close them, instead of disappearing after a few seconds.

You can also use your browser's zoom (Ctrl and + on Windows, Cmd and + on Mac) to enlarge the whole page.

Pop-up messages

OpsAnalitica shows short pop-up messages, for example after you save something. To make sure you have time to read and act on them:

  • Error messages stay on screen until you close them.

  • Messages with a button, such as View, stay on screen until you close them.

  • Other messages pause while your mouse is over them or while keyboard focus is inside them.

  • Turn on Keep messages until dismissed in Device settings to keep every message open until you close it.

Reduced motion

If your device's "reduce motion" setting is turned on, OpsAnalitica turns off its animations and page transitions.

  • Windows: Settings > Accessibility > Visual effects > Animation effects (off)

  • macOS: System Settings > Accessibility > Display > Reduce motion

  • iOS / iPadOS: Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion

  • Android: Settings > Accessibility > Remove animations

Using a keyboard

You can use OpsAnalitica without a mouse.

  • Tab / Shift+Tab: move to the next or previous control.

  • Enter: activate a button or link. Buttons also respond to Space.

  • Enter or Space: select an item in a list.

  • Arrow keys: move between options in a menu, tab bar or button group.

  • Esc: close a menu, dialog or pop-up.

  • Shift+F10 or the Menu key: open an item's context menu.

Context menus

Many items, such as questions in the question set editor, have a context menu with extra actions. You can open it in several ways:

  • Mouse: right-click the item.

  • Touch screens: press and hold the item.

  • Keyboard: move focus to the item and press Shift+F10 or the Menu key.

Reordering without dragging

Wherever you can drag items to reorder them, you can also move them without dragging:

  1. Open the item's context menu (see above).

  2. Choose Move up or Move down.

This works for questions, categories and sections in the question set editor, and for question set categories. When a question reaches the top or bottom of its category, Move up or Move down moves it into the neighboring category; categories move between sections the same way. After the move, focus stays on the item you moved, and screen readers announce its new position, for example "Moved to position 2 of 5 in Food safety."

The OpsScript editor

In the OpsLogic script editor, the Tab key inserts a tab character instead of moving to the next control. To leave the editor using the keyboard:

  • Windows, Linux and ChromeOS: press Ctrl+M, then press Tab to move to the next control.

  • Mac: press Ctrl+Shift+M, then press Tab.

Press the same shortcut again to make Tab insert tab characters again.

Charts and dashboards

Every chart's data is also available as a table, which you can read with a screen reader or download.

  1. Select the View as table button (table icon) next to the chart. If a section has more than one chart, the button opens a menu where you can pick the chart you want.

  2. A dialog shows the chart's data as a table.

  3. Select Download to save the data as a CSV file, which you can open in Excel or another spreadsheet app.

Screen readers

OpsAnalitica is built using standard web accessibility techniques so that screen readers can describe the page:

  • Page regions: the page is divided into labeled regions, including the main menu, the main content and side panels. Use your screen reader's landmark navigation to jump between them.

  • Labeled controls: icon buttons such as Main menu, Back and Close have text labels, and the main menu button reports whether the menu is open or closed.

  • Announcements: changes such as reordered items are announced without moving your focus.

Supported browsers

OpsAnalitica supports the current versions of:

  • Google Chrome (desktop and Android)

  • Microsoft Edge

  • Mozilla Firefox, including Firefox ESR

  • Safari on macOS, iPhone and iPad (version 15.4 or later)

For the best experience with assistive technology, keep your browser and screen reader up to date.
